Traktor Users Will Be Able To Enjoy A Laptop-Free Traktor Experience” – Denon DJ

Denon Traktor

No, this isn’t coming from Native Instruments (sadly, of course – Traktor users would be rightfully shocked and amazed were this the announcement of a laptop-free Traktor controller). Rather, it’s from Denon DJ, and was the carefully worded line the company gave us when we asked directly about the teased forthcoming integration between Traktor and Engine Prime, Denon DJ’s music preparation software.

Looking at the screenshots teased on Denon DJ’s social media sites late last week, and hearing what Native Instruments itself had to say (the words were “Denon DJ’s Librarian software is now capable to import (sic) your Traktor playlists”), what we’re looking at here is the ability to import your Traktor library into Engine Prime, in presumably much the same way you can import your Serato library currently.

That means that it should be possible to take your playlists, beatgrids, cue points and so on directly from Traktor into Engine Prime and export to USB or SD card to play with on Denon DJ’s laptop-free media players (and, presumably, the MCX8000 controller, too) which of course would make life considerably easier for any DJ who wants or needs to use both systems.
